Fall 2016 has been HOP’s most successful semester yet!
We’ve had over 70 families and 144 kids participating. Our Facebook group just went over 500 members (thanks everybody!) and our partnership with the Dunedin Community Center has been awesome. Most of all, thanks to everybody participating in HOP because you’re the ones who make HOP what it is 🙂
As this semester comes to a close, it’s time to look forward to Spring 2016. The HOP Planning Team has been busy preparing, with a lot of updated information on the site:
- the Spring 2016 Calendar
- Updated Information & Policies
- a new FAQ
- a new Teach With Us page, for recruiting new teachers
- and a page about the HOP Planning Team so you can get to know the people behind the scenes better
The most exciting part is seeing what classes will be offered next semester – and you can help decide!
We’ve opened up for class submissions and there’s a lot of discussion going on in our Facebook group (Homeschoolers of Pinellas). Teachers are posting their class ideas and getting votes on which ones to offer. Parents are making requests on classes they’d like to see – and we’ve already gotten submissions for some great new classes.
If there are classes that you or your family is interested in, let us know on Facebook. All of our current teachers are part of the group and you may find someone who wants to teach what you’re looking for!
We’re also recruiting new teachers – are you interested?
We like to provide a wide variety of interesting classes – and that’s not possible without great teachers. Do you have some knowledge, skills or interest you’d like to share with us? Quite a few of our teachers are parents sharing their passions with HOP. Some teach semester-long classes and others participate in our free co-op classes (where every week one family teaches a relevant class).
If you’ve got some ideas and want some feedback, now’s the time to discuss it on Facebook! Or if you have a class planned and ready, read our Teach With Us page and submit your class(es) for consideration.
