The HOP Planning Team is the group of people that runs things behind the scenes. We are unpaid volunteers who work very hard to make HOP successful. We do many things, including: managing the finances, running and updating the website, facilitating communication between HOP and North Dunedin Baptist Church, working with teachers, managing class submissions, organizing volunteers, managing the registration process and the registration system, scheduling classes, assigning class locations, responding to problems on the fly, updating our Facebook page, and marketing HOP to potential new members in the outside community.
We want to make HOP a fun and enriching place for everyone! If you’d like to contact the Planning Team directly, please send an email to homeschoolersofpinellas@gmail.com.
Our Team
Jaclyn Young
Jaclyn, her husband and her 2 children have been homeschooling since 2012. They have been members of HOP since 2018. Jaclyn and her kids look forward to Wednesdays with their HOP Family! Away from HOP, Jaclyn enjoys reading, playing volleyball, supporting her children’s interests, and traveling as much as possible.
Kayla Raddatz
Kayla and her husband have 4 kids and have been homeschooling since 2016. She loves helping to make HOP a fun, safe, and supportive resource for homeschool families. Kayla loves homeschooling and enjoys helping families find freedom and confidence in their homeschooling journey. When she’s not at HOP she likes to travel with her family, spend time with friends and support her little performers in theater and dance.
Allison Scanlin – Event Coordinator
Hey! My name is Ali. Our 3 kids and I love HOP.
We love being involved with such a wonderful homeschool community, that understands and supports our purpose. There is so much freedom that comes with homeschooling, and I love that for my family!
I’m originally from New Hampshire and before that, Philadelphia. I’ve lived all over, including Spain.
I love to travel, beach days, spending time family, laughing with friends and pretty much anything outdoors.
Dawn Miller – Volunteer Coordinator
Hi, I am Kooper’s mom otherwise known as Dawn Marie. I love finding joy in every adventure. I have found so much in the opportunities HOP has provided me with in homeschooling my youngest of 4 children. I wish I had had the courage and resources I do now to have homeschooled my other children. Kooper’s challenges have given me strength and courage to push myself and he has lead me on so many amazing adventures. I look forward to working with all of you and helping HOP provide even more for its families!
Kai – Volunteer Coordinator
Kai and her son Matthew have been with HOP since 2017. Matthew has always been homeschooled and enjoys gaming, beaching, movies and all the usual stuff! In addition to wrangling pizza orders every week, Kai teaches classes and is very knowledgeable about the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities and is happy to answer questions about it.
