For students that have coding experience, especially with engines like Scratch, this class introduces GameMaker Studio 2, a more advanced coding engine with commercial possibilities. Students will work through game-building tutorials with the teacher and construct:
– Action Games
– Platformer Games
– Adventure Games
– Multi-Player Games
GameMaker Studio 2 introduces professional coding styles while maintaining a bit of drag-and-drop and easy variable entry with text fields. Students will grow their coding concepts and abilities as they see more advanced options in their games.
The teacher is a marketing agency owner with over 25 years of coding experience and 12 years of teaching experience (non-classroom).
– A computer is required and headphones are suggested. GameMaker Studio is a download, so students will need access to install the program.
– Cost is $75 for the semester, no materials fee
