Weekly topics:
Meditation (which will be practiced at the beginning of every class to settle in). Kids will learn how to relax and check in with themselves while having fun doing it!

Chakras 101. We’ll learn a color-coded energy system on how different parts of our bodies relate to our lives, like creativity and fun. Kids will get to create their own abstract art piece with their favorite colors.

Crystals 101. In this class we’ll get to play with rocks and learn the science behind how they can benefit our lives. Each child will get to choose and take home their favorite crystal too!

Conscious Cultures across the World. Our classroom will turn into a portal to take us to places like India, Japan, and even to our own historically Native American backyards to explore different cultures and how our world has traditionally valued finding a deeper connection to our planet and all aspects of life.

Emotional Intelligence + Empathy. This class will teach us how to practice greater compassion and understanding for ourselves and each other through exercising examples of our different emotions. By the end of class we’ll be able to not only tell how someone else is feeling just by looking at them (through body language and facial expression) but also how we can support them too.

Earth Love. Together we get to explore various ways we can help the planet heal and love her more like keeping the oceans free of plastic, recycling, clean-ups, common planet-conscious household swaps, and more. The students will get to turn trash into treasure in an up-cycling project in this class too!

Keep Calm. We go beyond meditation in this class and learn more impactful coping mechanisms like breathwork, dancing to our own beat, tapping, and more. Kids will get a chance to play with a Tibetan singing bowl and begin to learn the greater power of vibration and sound.

Creative Therapy. While discussing different creative therapies such as music therapy, writing therapy, dance therapy, etc. the children will get to explore art therapy and create their own masterpiece through an acrylic pouring art project.

Mindful Reads. In this class we’ll explore and read together conscious books from some of the world’s leading children’s authors like Mallika Chopra, the daughter of Deepak Chopra. Kids will also have the opportunity to outline ideas for their own conscious book to continue creating at home if they wish.

Conscious Chatting. This class will help us understand and practice conversation skills for the modern world in a compassionate and patient manner. The students will come together to talk about a spectrum of topics like what makes them happy as well as a time they felt not-so-happy so we can all understand and practice the full emotional depth that life gifts us with in healthy ways and feel the deeper relativity that exists between us all.

Gratitude. Together we’ll learn what it means to be thankful and explore different ways of practicing gratitude including mindset training. Children will get to begin their very own gratitude journal to take home and continue working with as well if they wish.

Power of Intention. This class teaches us the raw power of our thoughts and feelings and how we can use our hearts and minds to make the world a better place. Music Theory I (Barbie Glenn)
Ages: 13+
Cost: $100

Every day music is played and sung around the world. Learning to decode written music gives every aspiring musician understanding and confidence as they become better musical players, singers and composers. Music theory is the basis of how to make sense of what has been written down, and the way one has the understanding to turn those musical directions back into the sounds they were created to be.

In this class, we will start at the beginning as we learn how to read, write and understand written music. We will begin with the staff and expand our knowledge to include reading notes on the staff, rhythm, musical vocabulary and terms, intervals, and the circle of fifths with key signatures. This is a great class for anyone who wants to begin learning the language of written music and for those who already study an instrument but would like more focused help on the theory aspect of learning music.

I have taught music and music theory for over 20 years and I have found that helping musicians understand theory helps them become better musicians every time! I hope you’ll join me for an adventure as we study music theory together!
